Can you help me prove that using video online is a better marketing tool than traditional text ads?

I am trying to convince some people that incorporating video advertisements and testimonials is far more effective than flat, dull text ads. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Somewhere, I have read results from some tests or Surveys which confirmed that a video has a higher click thru and conversion rate, but I cannot find that source now that I need it. HELP!?!

I wouldn’t be on it. Not until high speed internet is more readily available. I think you’ll find most SEO advise to avoid use of video on websites if possible. Most people’s computers and/or internet connections simply cannot handle the download fast enough, and the average consumer just isn’t that patient.

Had a group of persons been MADE to watch a video ad, and a see a print ad, I’m sure the video ad would be more effective. The problem is, more effective with a fraction of the people being patient enough for it to download just isn’t effective. lol.

Policies, procedures, environments, ad campaigns, and product offerings, and more, will be better informed by doing this simple customer’s eye analysis of your service cycle.  

The service cycle:

Exposure – Brand exposure is going to be the first way your customer hears of your brand.  It could be from knowing you personally, a recommendation from a friend, some form of advertising, searching for you on the internet, a news report featuring your company, or simply passing on the street.  You must begin here.

KEY STEPS:

•        Brainstorm all of the possible angles through which a consumer may be introduced to your brand.

o        How does each one work?

•        Role play the next step past the exposure.  How does the exposure lead into the transaction? What is the next form of contact that naturally would occur? (Do they call? Fill in a web form? Have no options and therefore give up?)

•        You should have in mind all of the transaction possibilities and next role play the way through each one. Is it easy for the consumer?
•        How much THINKING does the consumer have to do?  * It should be as little as possible.
•        Do you have a clearly defined sales methodology?
•        Once the first step is competed, does your consumer know what to do next?  Do they need to know?  Do you jump in and take care of the rest?

Delivery –
Now that the consumer has paid, how will they get the service or product?  Do you take care of everything and stay on top of it automatically, or do they have to follow up?  If there is a delivery problem, does your system include an automatic notification to you and re-attempt, or does the consumer simply wait with an unfulfilled order for three weeks until they have to contact you?

Follow up –
Once a transaction is completed, how is your company’s appreciation shown?  Do consumers get thanked?  At time of sale only, or thereafter?  How is newsletter or promotional notice/advertisement list sign-up handled?  Do you have an automatic processor for inviting participation in and processing Customer Feedback Surveys?

By spending due time and care performing these steps, you will be able to improve your company’s customer service and conversion rates many times.  It helps to diagram the many possible customer paths through these steps, as in the example below.  

Based on the diagram, you will discover key action points in which a representative of your company will be required to do something. I haven’t done that particular one, but I have done Paid Surveys for other sites before. Honestly, most of them involve a catch. The one I did said do a Survey and we’ll credit you with £10, so I spent about an hour doing it. Finished it, ready for my £10, it went on to tell me that yes I had £10, but I had to complete another however many surveys to take my balance up to £25, which is the minimum amount they can transfer. OK, so far, so good.

Uh no, each survey was only worth £1. So that’s another £15 surveys, lasting anywhere from half an hour to an hour. It just wasn’t worth it.

Strange comments from a customer related to employee?

I have a customer that often makes strange sexual remarks pertaining to an employee I have (he’s only 18) the customer is about 32 or so. Every time I talk with this lady about work she has comments about this employee and just how sexy and hot he is and how if she wasn’t married she’d do X & Y…you get my drift.
