Some people think that taking Surveys Online is a waste of time. If you are one of them, maybe you just haven’t found the right companies to register with. If you are registered for legitimate companies, you can easily make hundreds per month taking surveys at home. Here is how to make sure you are getting the most for your efforts:

1. Register for multiple companies. You can’t just register for a couple Survey panels and expect to have a multitude of opportunities come your way. It doesn’t work like that. They are hired by businesses and their need for you can be sporadic. You must register for multiple companies (like 15-20) to make consistent income.

2. Get picky AFTER you have registered. When you register for multiple companies, you will probably need to register for those you may not have considered (like those who offer sweepstakes entries or too little compensation). Register for as many as possible, even the ones that appear to only offer sweepstakes entries for your time. The reason is, those very same companies usually also do product testing and can send out some great surveys now and then. The other surveys that aren’t as appealing to you? Just skip them. Don’t do them if you don’t want to. There’s no penalty for skipping a survey — but if you aren’t registered, you will definitely miss out on the good ones that they do send now and then. 3. Don’t pay for a survey company list. You should never have to pay for a list of survey companies. There is plenty of information available for 100% free. Likewise, don’t let a survey company pay you 50 cents for a 40 minute survey. Just delete it — do yourself a favor and wait for a better paying survey.

Rule of Thumb: The time a survey takes to complete should be relative to its compensation. You should never be making less than minimum wage for your time. If a survey is only paying you a dollar, it shouldn’t take 35 minutes to complete! Sometimes it may take a little longer than expected, but the dollar surveys should only take you about 10 minutes or less.

Survey companies may try to “woo” you and get around this by offering sweepstakes entries as additional compensation, but if you are unlucky like me, that doesn’t mean anything. I still make hundreds a month by being picky. If you are registered for a lot of companies, you will get enough invitations to fill up your time.
